On our recent trip, we were taken aback when a receptionist of a restaurant (forgot the name) somewhere along Adrianou (?) St started talking to us in Tagalog and invited us to try his place. Turns out his lolo is a Filipino from Mandaluyong. Nice anecdote but the food disappointed.
If you have time to go out of town, make sure you visit the monasteries in Meteora. Enjoy!
