[...] So I ducked into Café Leona. Two lessons were learned during the ensuing feast. Most importantly, I am ardent fan of the Spanish contributions to Filipino cooking. Of course there’s adobo, which I had already tasted several times on this trip. This dish of stewed meat, adopted during the colonial trade with Mexico, has been adapted to suit the Pinoy penchant for sour foods by substituting vinegar for chilies as the main marinating agent.
The food and service there in Cafe Leona is terrible. We we were there in Vigan 2 days ago, we had our dinner there. It really took too long before the food was served. We were dining outside the resto,my cousins already had their 3rd stick of cigarette but the food was still not served. We already then wanted to leave but we were already tired to walk around to look for another place to eat, so we had no choice then but to wait and wait and wait. I really wont recommend this place. TERRIBLE!

Cafe Leona has that perfect Vigan ambiance. As for quality of food, it's on the average, nothing great. I ordered grilled T-bone and they overcooked it. The experience was like eating rubber. I am a forgiving person. I will visit them again and may be have a few drinks and skip the other dishes.
