Hi Marketmanila, just got re-directed to this site as I search for a nice resto in Serendra, and it was a pleasant surprise since I've been dropping by your site a few times before already - really cool and interesting blogsite. I will definitely add you to my blogroll now. Thanks for all the comments above as it helped me to think twice in trying out Chelsea with the family. Maybe will just dine at Abe for now :)

This is the worst review i've ever made. Truly disappointed. Not in its taste. Not in its appearance. Not in its service. But in its cleanliness.

For something worth 400+ per dish, people deserve to expect more. People deserve more. I'd never really thought i'll post something like this. Cause usually... i'd rather keep my bad reviews to myself than proclaim it to the world and ruin their name. In Chelsea's case, i can't keep it - even if i want to. This news, is for the betterment of food lovers like me. Also, this may serve as an additional warning to the kitchen of Chelsea. (and to the rest of 'fine' restaus out there)

We ordered Granny's salad, 5 cheese pizza, spag kids meal, and seafood pesto. The salad arrived first. I don't usually eat fresh green leafy vegetables. My mom even said "aba! Kumakain na ng gulay ang anak ko!". My mom tasted a leaf and showed her distaste. She was complaining that she doesn't like that kind of leaf. Still, i tried it. I ate some and added more from the bowl. (brace yourself) Until i saw... a green tiny thing on a fresh leaf... A MOVING TINY THING - a caterpillar or worm. YUCK! My eyes were trying to adjust while the creature unrolled itself. EEEEEEEEeeeeeeeew. Just thinking about it makes me wanna gag. Kadiri talaga. But my instinct was to gasp and cover my face. My ninang - who wears reading glasses but not at the moment - was positioned right beside me. And she confirmed it. My mom and aunt who were in front of us could read our faces. Soon enough, my mom got defensive and got really mad. Unlike other people, we weren't scandalous about the incident. Still, my mom scolded the waiter and he retrieved the plate fast. Fortunate for them, i wasn't able to take a picture. I usually take pictures of my food pa naman. Swerte nila it wasn't my own food so i haven't taken its picture. Then more waiters arrived and they were all apologizing. Soon after, the manager arrived and apologized. My mom told them that it wasn't fair - not at all. They offered to replace the salad but we told them no. I don't think i'll be eating any fresh leaf soon. still gives me creeps whenever i think about it. (kadiri talaga!!! imagine the creature unrolling on your plate! hindi naman kami nag order ng ganon noh!). After we finished our meal, they offered 2 slices of cakes (which i originally like). but my mom told them to take it out. i wasn't sure if they misunderstood because they placed the cakes on take out plastics. As we left my mom told another waiter "kumain pa naman din kami dyan kasi we read good reviews... and then this is what we get?! it's really not fair".

Gosh. What an unforgettable experience. an unforgettable cuisine indeed. I was supposed to say "guys, pagkakain kayo dito... DO NOT order any salad" but i've realized that if they weren't able to wash the leaves carefully - meticulously - paano pa yung mga ibang pagkain nila. such bad news. sorry to the management of Chelsea. I just really couldn't stop myself from warning people. Let them be the judge whether eating there would be worth it. Seriously, aanhin mo naman ang masarap, maganda, and great food if it's not clean.

I love this website...am very new and very happy I found it! I had dinner recently at Chelsea and unfortunately YES THE SERVICE IS STILL BAD! Despite specific instructions about serving the soup, then salad, then oysters/fish&chips, we had to send the other items back because they came out too early, after which yet another waiter came back offering the dish again! TERRIBLE.

I liked the way the fish and chips were served, certainly fancier than the usual newspaper wrapping which I experienced in London. Both the fish and the chips were good. Also liked the arugula salad, squash soup, oysters, watermelon shake and strawberry iced teas. TOO BAD they haven't done anything about the service :( I am guessing the waiters are paid well, but underemployed, thus their attitude.

If this is indeed owned by the owners of M Cafe, then am not surprised. I've experienced very snobbish waiters and managers there as well.

The service and general demeanor of the staff is disappointing. I realize how the restaurant is being marketed - chic, hip, and "uptown casual" - though it doesn't have to translate to snooty and insincere customer service. From taking reservations over the phone to clearing the tables to getting the bill, the waitstaff are generally aloof, inattentive, and not so concerned with retaining customers.
