Homemade by Roshan

Roshan is a home-based baker with spectacular cakes, desserts, and sweets. I featured some of her cakes last year. And I have since ordered her chocolate cupcakes (photographed above and below, delicious and fairly priced!) and have tasted several of her other baked goodies. In the past, her contact details were often difficult to find, she didn’t even put them on her boxes when you got a cake from her. But finally, she has listened to her friends and regular customers and has now put a list of her products on the net, complete with beautiful photos, some of them by Lori of Dessertcomesfirst.com. Here is the link. Check out her Christmas hampers and other nicely packaged goodies. But be warned, her site has hoilday music which you may not want to play if you are surfing from an office environment. At any rate, get your orders in early as the holiday months are CRAZED for all home bakers, I gather. And no, I am not related to Roshan at all… I usually bake most of my own stuff, but for some of those occasions when I need something new, or crave something I can’t or don’t want to bake, Roshan is one of the nice folks I call… After all, with this priceless quote she once relayed to me, how can I not?? — “I don’t bake if I am in a bad mood, it affects the finished product…” I have said something similar in one of my posts on baking, and I completely agree… :)

i opened the link and I was in picture heaven! ang ganda ng pics- if the taste is as good as it looks, wow, bibili talaga ako. you know MM, i appreciate the fact that you give time and blogspace to people who really deserve it. this is such a big help for people who can’t bake or doesn’t have time to bake, like me. thanks again!
November 28th, 2007Last holiday season, we ordered several of Roshan’s creations for Christmas and New Year’s Eve meals. They were all delicious, and I am hoping to eat them again soon. And the best thing is, she’s such a sweetheart! :-)
November 28th, 2007I order from Roshan regularly. I’m obsessed with her Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip cookies and Food for the Gods. If I need feel-good food, I can always count on her to whip up something wonderful.
November 29th, 2007The piped icing is nicely done - takes a lot of practice to come up with uniform piped icing with no gap in between.
November 29th, 2007Me too MM! I live by the same quote/motto…“I don’t bake (well, for me, it’s cook) if I am in a bad mood, it affects the finished product…”…it truly does. I totally agree that whatever emotion you are feeling, it comes out in your food…at least that’s one thing I have in common with Roshan.
November 29th, 2007This is sooooo good! i love Roshan’s cupcakes and reading this post actually reminded me to order again those scrumptous cupcakes =)
November 29th, 2007Posts like this make me want to visit the Phillipines again. Since my first visit comprised two overnight stays in Manila on the way to and from Vietnam, actually seeing some of what the country offers would be a new experience. Now to convince my husband.
P.S. I know you have nothing to do with the site, but music on websites (other than iTunes) really irritates me!
November 29th, 2007I checked the site and the brownies look so yummy. Do they deliver? Or the baked goodies are for pick-up only?
November 29th, 2007Sheryl, best to check with Roshan, but I think they only do pick-ups.
November 29th, 2007That second photo looks so yummingly amazing.. Very nice shot..
November 29th, 2007I love her lemon torte and the chocolate chip cookies! Small luxuries :)
November 29th, 2007my godmother gave me a box of this for my birthday and they were delicious. even my dad who doesn’t likes sweets ended up eating a lot
November 29th, 2007Oh my goodness! Where is she hosted? Bandwidth exceeded already! Do you have a copy of the PDF file of her price list, Marketman? I should have downloaded it the first time I went to her website, now it’s inaccessible. :(
Thanks for the info, nonetheless!
November 30th, 2007OMG! my blood sugar reading went through the roof when i saw the pix of those obscenely gorgeous cupcakes!
November 30th, 2007[…] Being a fan of Lori, I look forward to checking out the items on her list. Incidentally, I happened to have been part of her amazing dessert tea party a couple of years ago where I feasted about the scrumptious fare of her (then) favorite homebakers. One of them, Roshan, is online (thanks to Marketmanila for the tip). Her cookies are huge and she does now scrimp on the those Ghirardelli cookies. Check out her special Christmas packages too! […]
December 2nd, 2007I tried almost everything on her list. And I love it! Super yummy…
