The rice toppings are the favorites of my grandchildren. These and the animals: various fish, crocodile, turtle and iguanas.
There was a time when glowing fish was in the aquarium near the cashier.

Oh my! The dimsum and the roast duck mami at Wah Ying is so good! Not only that, the prices are so unbelievably cheap. Usually go there after shopping at 168 or buying fixtures at Soler. They even sell frozen vacuum packed siomai, that is very good. My kids love it.

Wah Sun, and its sister resto, Ambos Mundos, were landmarks in the Quiapo area during my father-in-law’s time. My hubby introduced me to the resto…and I got hooked! Ambos Mundos’ estofadong dila, tortang crab and singang na hipon are so good that when they closed in Quiapo, hubby & I were inconsolable…until one day we discovered that the owners, who had migrated to Canada, re-migrated back here and opened shop in F. Torres. Boy, did we go there posthaste! No frills, old style resto pero ang sarap ng food!!! Try it, guys! You can go buy light fixtures after in nearby Soler street..walk out the calories! :)

Aridelros, I am, after all trying to diet so the chicken breasts were priamrily for me to slice and put on a large salad, but the kids had it with rice. We had a split pea and ham soup to start… President in Binondo is a favorite indeed…now, I am curious about Wah Sun…
