by they way the swordfish is 30euro a kilo and the tuna is 25 I was down at the big market the other day just browsing.

Oh gosh, don’t wait for photos…most of it was already cooked over the weekend. I made prawn sinigang. I made chilli crabs for which I have an earlier post/recipe. The tilapia was deep fried and served with a great mustasa salad that I will post in a few days,and my trusty crew will devour the matang baka deep fried or escabeche!

I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with the bounty, Marketman.
I love crispy tilapia and Than long crabs!

On a serious note — As a child, I grew up loving Saturday mornings when my parents would do their marketing and cook up a storm in the kitchen — nilagang talbos ng kamote and okra, pinangat sapsap, crispy-fried liempo, adobong pusit and steamed shrimps and a big kaldero of garlic rice. I am sadly an orphan now but the memory of the food and family they have created with our Saturday traditions is deeply imprinted in my being.
