A classic pairing of rhubarb and strawberries…they photograph well together, taste superb together and in this case, came down from Baguio together…making this a really nice honest, “seasonal” dish in the making. I will post the recipe up next but I didn’t know what to do with these great photos so I decided to post them separately… I think I am going back to the market this weekend to get me some more rhubarb…

Pretty hues, I like it! I remember having some rhubarb and strawberry crumble before and it was really good. I wonder if the two will be good for a trifle by making a rhubarb compote? I get my rhubarb directly from Baguio. Where do you get yours here in Manila, Marketman? Can I spot this at Salcedo? Thanks!

I got the rhubarb at FTI. And yes, I think a trifle with rhubarb compote would be nice…

Picked up some “forced” rhubarb at US$5.99 a lb, outrageous price but the stalks were very good. Made a compote and served it with cheesecake.
