Trade Fairs in Manila on the Calendar…

I love to go to trade fairs, provincial food fairs, handicraft fairs, etc. When I remember to look them up or if I read about them in other sources like the newspapers, blogs, internet, etc. At any rate, here are some on my radar. If any readers want to plug their bazaars, trade fairs, etc., please feel free to leave a comment with details, dates, etc. of the event. Thanks.

‘Pinas those months and would love to visit those fairs. Thanks.

  5. Hoping to hit the Negros fair this weekend…my aunt always has a stall of her children’s clothes :) Very old school, smocking and all! The dresses of my childhood, and now my little girl wears them! Hoping to score some yummy food items too :)

Thanks Victoria for the info on the Bicol fair…love the food from that region!

  6. MM, the native trees seminar by Dr Roberto Coronel was held last Sept 20 n UP Diliman. I think there was also an exhibit.

  7. There is Agrilink at World Trade..Oct 9-11. MM, check out Cebu Herbs in fb. They have plenty of herbs that may interest you.

  8. It would be interesting to attend the Duman festival of Santa Rita Pampanga, which is held every November or December of each year. Newly-harvested duman or pinipig – the genuine – not the fake ones usually sold in tourist markets where they add sugar to malagkit and color the grains green – can taste heavenly by itself. It also goes very well with good, hot tablea or chocolate drink, or with freshly-squeezed coconut milk. Anyway, while in Santa Rita you can ask around for households that cook/sell those humongous pork chicharon – i want to faint everytime i remember how good newly-cooked ones smelled hahaha. Some very nice traditional pastries as well. don’t forget the town market where they sell alimango and hipon – so fresh and nice in the mornings. Now, i’m getting hungry and will probably pay the town a visit one of these days.
