fried-neurons, sorry, I haven't heard anything. I tried to watch the blog awards last night by ustream video but it kept conking out, how bad is that for SMART and USTREAM to sponsor but the technology didn't work for 80% of the program! And for a blog awards, no one has posted the winners yet, 12 hours after the event, they must all be sleeping with well deserved hangovers! :)

Apicio, shucks you broke the image of you in Indiana Jones type felt hat swinging from enormous Amazonian tree to another... heeheehee. Wait a minute, wasn't I supposed to be the semi-retired person with all the time to hang out in Rio for 6 months of the year? What happened here? :) Ever considered hanging out being idle at a Cebu restaurant on a spacious lot with lots of green for six months out of the year to escape the harsh Canadian winter? You'd have to manage it, of course, between mojitos at the bar...

Bernee, may be you should venture farther North where MM has ventured and discovered a few good Ilocano restaurants.

MM, you make it sound as though I bushwhack my way through jungle fastnesses armed only with a machete, a fedora and a whip. Nothing close to that, I am scared silly of bugs, freeze at the sight of snake and faint at the feel of leech. I just sit in bars and drink local beer, taste their food, check out the local markets, engage with musicians and forthcoming natives in conversation. I like Brazil because they regard idleness there as a state of happiness, I blend in. Leaving end of the month.
