Well for most things it is just suka, asin, sili at bawang. Certain types of food are preferred with specific sawsawans: for example, roasts with ali oli or salsa monja; fried squid or prawn with sslt& pepper mix but my favourite over all is the minced ginger, sesame oil, chopped green onions with steamed or hainanese chicken.
