So happy to see your review and what awaits us September 1! It was tough to get a booking... What a beautiful space and concept ABC Kitchen is....funny how old stalwarts in the industry like Vongerichten manage to re-invent themselves and do things that are so fresh all over again. I walked into the space and was blown away...that mirrored wall is just breathtaking. And what adds to its charm is the what's adjacent...the store is just amazing...the amount of astier de villate inventory made my mouth water! Judging from your post and pics, a place that would serve produce like hard-to-find fraises de bois on a salad that way is a must try....truly love this post, and will order the teen's pasta and the pizza for sure!

Adam Platt, the New York Magazine food critic who wrote the ABC Kitchen review, is incidentally the son of former US Ambassador to the Philippines, Nicholas Platt (and the brother of actor Oliver Platt). His parents are big fans of the Philippines!

MM...I grow baby leeks since my boys are fond of eating braised leeks and they eat it cold with too and I marinate it in a vinaigrette. I plant the variety just bred for that purpose to use as baby leeks. It is from Renee's garden seeds and it is called French baby leeks...Primor variety...very nice and tender and sweet. Maybe Sister can include the seeds in her next BB box...
