WOW!!! So, yeah, emilalva’s comment(s) was/were based on ignorance, and, maybe MM is beyond reproach — but the viciousness of some of the comments seem over the top. Please channel that anger on more important things. I’d like to believe that MM is doing just that for the less fortunate. Thanks Ernesto for the breath of fresh air (or is that Fr. Ernesto?)

Emilalva, please go to the December 26, 2006 post on the Christmas party that the Marketman family threw for their crew. If that doesn’t reveal to you that generosity and goodness are what motivate Marketman, then nothing will. Maybe his kindness doesn’t resonate in your spirit because yours is too closed and dark. Get help.

I can’t start hurling my own curses your way because once I do, I will have difficulty stopping. I have serious anger-management issues myself. But I really like the “grow like an onion” one Myra P sent your way. So in the words of Patrick Swayze — “Ditto.”

Marketman, thank you, thank you for your blog. I chanced upon the entry I mentioned above and reading it and looking at the pictures made me weep. Thank you for teaching us how to appreciate good food, the arts of cooking and baking, tasteful flower arrangement, how to expect and ask for value for hard-earned money, how to nurture family and friends, how to share, and so much more.

I am dreading the approach of the holidays because we just lost my Dad. I am trying very hard to get into the Christmas spirit. Your writing and the excitement and wonder you put into them are helping me. Thank you.
