I saw a show recently that talked about how there are even fake truffles now, from China, that flood France, and even has the tendency to “infect” land that French truffles naturally grow in. The Chinese truffles are definitely cheaper and some businessmen can these, label them as “Made in France” citing that these products were canned in France, and pass them off as the real deal French truffles.
