I tried the Kamias shake, utterly refreshing, and the biko, wow, the muscovado sugar on top nailed it. I ended up still ordering lechon, though. (I figured if the cholesterol was going to kill me, I might as well go down happy. Hehehe) I couldn’t stop taking photos and sending it back home to my brother and sisters via imessage. I promised them I’d buy at the airport when I go back to Manila tomorrow.

It would have been awesome had I met you. Wysgal and Fabian are my very close friends, and it’s a shame I never met you. (I was in NY when the Cebu Lechon eyeball happened), though I did meet you briefly, during an Alumni event in Salon de Ning a year ago I think. :-) I was the one who approached you and said that I read your blog. You probably don’t remember, but that’s okay.

Zubuchon fan forever

Thought you should know that I have been craving for Zubuchon since you first wrote about it. Now that I am finally here in Cebu, the first thing I told the driver was: Alam niyo ho ba yung Zubuchon? He replied “Oho, Ma’am. Lahat ng drinadrivan ko, yun yung hinihiling nila.”

When I got to the hotel, I was glad that my room hotel was not ready, and I immediately jumped into the car, and asked to be brought to Zubuchon immediately.

I got so excited, and then suddenly wondered if I was setting myself up for disappointment. What if the lechon is good enough, but I hyped it up so much in my head, that my expectations are ridiculously high?

Just to cut the story short, Marketman, the lechon is everything and more!!!!!! All the hype and totally exceeded my expectations!!!!!

From the crispy skin, to the meat, to the fat, to the EVERYTHING! I wonder why there’s a bottle of vinegar, soysauce and oil on the table. Is it for decor? Because surely, no one in their right mind would bother putting some on the lechon, it’s perfect as it is!

And the Santol juice? Sublime.

My only gripe is that the waiter was err, a little “Judgemental.” Hahaha. I’m a solo traveler, and I wanted to order as much as I can. So, I ordered the Pork Rice, with the lechon. She said “Pang 3-4 servings ho yung kanin.” I nodded, meaning, okay, yes, I’ll eat them all, if I can’t finish, I’ll take it home. But then she still insisted, and said “marami ho yon.” Okay, fine! I’m a pig! So, I just ended up ordering a cup of white rice.

You might want to try Casa Araño but you have to take the taxi to there since it is located inside a residential subdivision. Just google for the address kasi i forgot na. :p
