For those keen to listen to some interesting articles from Monocle, you could download their podcasts on your iPhone, for free. I love their series on The Menu but have yet to forage into other categories, which Im sure are all interesting “reads”. Beats a hefty subscription price and I browse the hard copy in the local library when I want to get the feel of the magazine and read other non-podcasted articles.

siopao, yes, I have heard about the Lucky Peach but haven’t seen an issue yet… sophie, I did a t-shirt way back that had “Marketmaniac” on it. :) chinachix, thanks, will have to read that link soon. EJ, I used to have a subscription to FT many years ago, but when I retired… read it less and less… Part Time Homemaker… in time, in time… hopefully it will eventually happen. Kerwin, they are pricey… but maybe I will have to be happy with an occasional copy… lei, I did send in several photos of my market basket, but I think they decided to take one of their own to fit the layout better. Papa Ethan, it is exactly the market basket in my logo… Mtriumph, I am not aware of the book being available in the U.S., but maybe eventually Amazon will carry it? foodie, thanks for that, NBSI Rockwell it is.

Heard about Linamnam book pre Christmas from blog Flavours of Iloilo. Mr. Tayag was in Iloilo then for a local food tasting/competiton…had my Sis buy the book as a present for my foodie nephew… _

MM I was in Cebu a few weeks back and I tried the pritchon in the Zubuchon near the airport. I wanted the fresh lechon but they told me it was only available after 5:30. It was so good!!! I also made lechon sinigang with the frozen lechon I took home. My husband loved it! Open a branch in Manila please???

Got a copy of Linamnam as well and have just started it…it is getting me all excited about finding and trying all these Filipino dishes! Got another Filipino food book as well. Exciting times! :)

Subscribe to the monocle online for an annual fee of 70 pounds if I am not mistaken. It ships in a very nice padded plastic envelope. Just be prepared to wait 2-3 months before your 1st issue arrives. Worth the wait though.
