I got stuck on the 2nd photo (gelato banana split) – sublime… I wonder if any of the gelato sold locally meet the standards of the authentic Italian gelato? Husband says it’s really different and so far, all that we have tried are found wanting in his books. Me? I don’t discriminate – he..he…he…

oh yes,these pics remind me of our 3 weeks Italian vacation (Rome, Florence,Venice and Milan) in October 2008. while Venice is indeed captivating, I wonder if there is anything they can do to erase the stench of the canals. regardless, I still love Italy and my husband and I wish to visit again. not this year though, as we are headed to the French Riviera and Monaco this June.

Rebecca, I had a previous post on GROM in New York, here. I also wrote about Il Laboratorio del Gelato, here. Our favorite so far is still Il Gelato San Crispino in Rome, here. The Teen has an obsession with gelato, so one of her ultimate goals is to taste the maximum number of flavors from the maximum number of purveyors before she turns 18...hahaha. :)
