I haven't tried faro but it looks a lot like pearl barley which I love. The nuttiness and chewiness makes it perfect for soup and as a cold salad. The former, perfect for winter and the latter, perfect for summer.

Good morning, MM! I'm a long time lurker and must say that I enjoy reading your blogs a lot. I find comments section entertaining and educational. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences. :) I had a taste of Zubuchon this morning. A friend's sister came from Cebu and she asked her sister to bring her a few kilos of Zubuchon. Knowing that I am a big fan of your site ( they are now "converts" of Market Manila:) ), she apologetically gave me a few piece and gave me details how to heat it. And wow... I promised myself that I will go to Cebu to to have a first hand experience of Zubuchon. By the way, do you still have the same process of ordering zubuchon to be pick up in Manila? https://www.marketmanila.com/archives/how-to-order-and-pick-up-your-airfreighted-zubuchon thanks!
