MJ, its best you resort to a google view of the towns you mention… but here are some very wild estimates. Bulacan to Subic from 1.5-2.5 hours, depending on starting point, there is a new highway… subic to banaue? Nightmare, say 10+ hours and you are backtracking through Bulacan. Banaue to Pagudpud through Cagayan valley, I don’t really know, maybe 8-12 hours, depending on road conditions and stops. Pagudpud to Vigan say 2.5-3 hours. Vigan to Bulacan, say another 8+ hours, depending on traffic. This is a NASTY long drive, I hope you have 2-3 drivers in the van and the van is in EXCELLENT shape or you could find yourselves in pretty remote and desolate stretches of road… For my posts on Pagudpud and Ilocos, check the archives after this post above and there are over a dozen posts, including hotels…

hello! i found your post and i wanted to ask you some questions. how long of a drive is it from bulacan to subic? subic to banaue? banaue to pagudpud? pagudpud to vigan? what’s the best route to take? we will be traveling via van and would really like to hit up all these places but have no clue how long it will take as far as driving goes. do you recommend any hotels in any of these places? how was your visit? thanks!!!

MM, on the way to Pagudpud you’re going to pass through Pasuquin — there’s a bakery there (can’t miss it, it’s on the national highway, I think it’s called Pasuquin bakery, haha) that sells this really yummy bread that they flavor with anise. You should give it a try, ansarap!

hi mm! enjoy your trip to pagudpud. my friends and i enjoyed our stay there immensely. however, on our first night we had to stay in a tent by the sea (literally a few feet away, so it was soooo cold!) because the party of armida siguion reyna was winding up filming of a dawn-richard movie. dang, that’s ages ago!
