Thank you Mark and Westy for accurately identifying this orange for me, other readers can read about the Cara Cara oranges here. It seems these one ARE from South Africa whose season is July/August, as opposed to the ones from California and Venezuela that are in season mid-winter. At any rate, thanks, I learned something today!!!

This is to confirm that they are cara cara (devine) oranges from south africa. I just bought them too and they are red but not more than pink grapefruit.

Hi, MM.

If you’re near some chinese store, get some Luo Han Guo (the dried fruit or the bouillon will work just fine) to boil and drink as tea. Wikipedia, actually, has some more info about these fruits.

Tastes wickedly close to arnibal, but it works ;)

MM: Those look like a Cara Cara orange, which are just slightly red, not deep red like blood oranges. I can only find them in the stores here in the U.S. in the middle of winter, but I think they’re worth the premium.

With one following on the heel of the other, I wonder if it has anything to do with the propulsive clams and these common bugs should they not be incubated with as little solid food as possible? Starve them away, so to speak. I remember mother warding them off from us kids with just the threat of fasting and purging. Castor oil anyone?

how about chicken consomme to which you add ginger slices? also, salabat is good for when you have sore throat.

You shouldn’t be eating oranges or citrus when you have a cough or cold…this according to my kids’ pediatrician. They’re high in allergens daw.
