I just noticed the “staircase” on both sides of the bed on the platform. I hope the Maharaja and the Maharani for the night did not trip on the steps. Hee, hee:) Ok for the petite maharani perhaps, but the tall maharajah? Is the bed really that high? Must be, as the top of the foot pillows is just about the level of the back of the sofa.

Khew, I suppose it’s always a possibility, but Franschhoek is a really small quaint country town with limited crime I would imagine. And the hotel did have security measures in place…

I would have to agree with you MM, the Armani suite appeals to me the most aesthetically. I didn’t initially understand why the bathroom and bedroom would share the same air until I took a closer look at the pictures and saw that the walls separating the 2 didn’t go all up to the ceiling. You wouldn’t want to have LBM in such a suite! Also, I don’t like it when there are portraits of people in hotel rooms, especially antique ones where you know whoever is in the portrait is long dead. I am likely to pray hard that night that I don’t end up seeing that person in my room as a ghost.
