myling, we make the jams and jellies in very small batches, and as such, don't really keep that much in stock... but I thought we had enough guava jelly for months more... perhaps it was just the store that ran out? Please call the Mango branch at 032.239.5697 to see if they have it in stock. If you call a few days ahead, they should be able to set aside a few bottles for you when you visit... Guava is in season roughly August through October, when we make as much as our small crew can manage... then when it runs out, that's it unfortunately. Making clear guava jelly is a tedious process and keeping its color an amber or light golden hue is harder than the folks that use brown sugar to get that deep dark color quicker... We have been poised to make mangosteen jam for the past 3 years, but there hasn't been a bumper crop of mangosteens that find their way to Cebu. We should be swimming in mangosteen now, at say PHP20 a kilo wholesale, but it's still PHP80 a kilo and therefore too expensive to make into jam for now...

Hi Marketman, this is the first time I've read about your jams. I can relate to that lady's comments about guava jelly; my dad used to make them when I was a kid. Hindi ko ma-appreciate noon kasi masyado pa akong bata at sa sobrang dami! He doesn't cook it anymore my parents moved to another place - no more guava trees. I wish I would be able to buy a bottle when I get home. I'd definitely give one to my dad :-)
