I sent “R” our regular buyer for the Carbon and asked him to canvass RETAIL prices out on the street, these are not yet WHOLESALE prices where you buy by the sack. The prices a stunningly low compared to Cebu City grocery stores, whose mark-ups are simply huge. This is the lowest priced market basket so far. While all prices seem lower than everywhere else, the VERY low price of ginger is what made the real difference. Contrary to popular lore, Cebu has terrific vegetables and vegetable prices…

Artisan, a huge thanks for doing 4 groceries in Cebu! I am sure all other readers in Cebu appreciate this… and look at those fluctuations across the city! Thanks too to all other readers who have posted prices! We have 30 markets and groceries so far, and hopefully a few more will trickle in this week… the results are fascinating, will have to summarize this in the next couple of days. Thanks.
