MM, with all the kitchen gadgets you have, your pots and pans and im sure you have more than one set on each type, stainless steele, copper bottom, non-stick, ypur paella pans, your baking pans, your fine dining sets et all, you must have a really biG kitchen to store all these precious items!!! Maybe next time you can show us a photo or photos of your kitchen, more like your pantry and storage area! What do yah think? hehehe

We don’t have a big house and kitchen storage is an issue, but that doesn’t stop me from buying kitchen stuff, my husband says that i’m obsessed! I tell him, hey, I’m the cook in the house I gotta have all the stuff I need! (or not) :)

Hello Mr. MM!! I really love browsing market manila because of your remarkable recipes.. Since i discover this website (from a friend 3weeks ago) i read your column everyday and get some tips on cooking, I never had a chance to say thank you and i really adore you for such a big help to people like me who doesn’t really know how to cook hehehehe..but when i saw this archives, this MYLAI DIMACULANG-CULANG really made me so mad!!!!! Hi Marketman,

I’ve been a regular reader of yours for some time, and it’s my first time to comment here.

I read your blog with delight, because of the mouthwatering photos and descriptions, and the funny/wry/aghast comments about your foodie experiences. There were a lot of things I took for granted about dining at home, going to market and dining out. A lot of your posts opened my eyes to new ideas (recipes, food presentation, ingredients sources) and somehow, they add to the things that enhance my day-to-day living. Now when I go anywhere and try any new food/restaurant/market, I learn a lot of new things about the simple and the sophisticated.

Your fish pan post made me think my mom would probably love something like that. We do have a narrow oval stainless steel fish poaching pot/bain marie from 15 years ago that we use from time to time. I have no idea where my mom bought it, but it’s been really useful. And in these high-cholesterol times, it’s about time my family and I ate more fish!

Anyway, I believe anything to do with food is a pleasure (of course let’s not go into strangling chickens and all that). The people who are in denial about the vicarious joys of reading blogs like Market Manila need a reality check and an attitude adjustment, wouldn’t you agree?
