i see you are curious about the cooking of Jason Atherton he no longer cooks at Maze which was by Gordon Ramsay... he is now his own restaurateur as well :). He has two restaurants in HK already. He has 22ships and Aberdeen Street Social. I was quite underwhelmed with 22Ships, which serves his take on modern tapas... people rave about this place but i find it quite bland... i feel sort of cheated cause all the dishes were plated really nicely but the taste just never lived up to the hype

Hi MM - I'm so very happy to see this post today. There is something about books and magazines that really gets me going. I, too, love collecting books - mostly, gardening and food, and some on various topics under the sun. Every year, on my birthday, I visit a bookstore and spend at least three hours perusing bookshelves, looking for books that I want to buy as gifts to myself. I must say that this ritual is the highlight of my birthday every year. I always come away with at least two or three. Sometimes, it takes a while before I go through them, and they may sit on the shelf for a while. When I finally have all the time for myself, I make a cup of coffee, sit down and read my beloved books. Visiting small towns is a delight. There are always second-hand bookstores where I always find very interesting books that are no longer in print. About six or seven years ago, I just realized that I was seriously running out of place to house my books. I decided - with a heavy heart - to donate about two hundred of them to my local library. I didn't know that I would be so affected, but I think I went into depression.

Wow, over how long a period of time have you been reading these books?! And I suppose there are a good number of non-food books in your current list!

Perhaps those canvas book bags can double up as market bags?

If indeed there is that Manila trip planned, can I be one of the first to beg to be included in the mini-eyeball?!
