I visited Rockwell’s Baker Dozen and there’s a lot of delicious baked goodies. What i found worth giving as gifts are the ff:
1)Sweet Life’s Frozen Brazo de Mercedez
2) Estrel’s Caramel Cake
3) Sanlo’s Chicken pies and Chocolate Cake
4) Kitchen’s Best Yummy Chocolate Brownies
a lot more but i didn’t get the names..oh Vargas buttercake is also good

My husband and I have just returned from a 3-week holiday in the Philippines, and I would like to say that yours and your other readers’ tips came very useful! To mention a few of the eating places we visited, most of which I read about here: We ordered bringhe and binukadkad na pla pla at Abe’s, and had coffee and cake at Coffee Bean in Serendra. Had dinner at Sentro and Via Mare Bistro in Glorietta 3, Max’s Restaurant everywhere and Jerry’s Grill. We were invited to a delicious lunch at Antonio’s in Tagaytay (this one must’ve cost our generous host an arm and a leg). The lush surrounding alone was well worth the trip. We dined at Fely J’s in Greenbelt 5. I can’t remember now what else we ordered aside from their famous adobo and the rice dilis, but my husband still swears by how good their dessert called “Maria Clara’s Secret” was. The meal is quite pricey, though. Also enjoyed brunch at Travel Cafe and dessert at Classic Confections in the same mall. We also drove two hours to eat at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan in Tayabas, Quezon. The food was great and the price was very reasonable. On our way home, we stopped by a rest area along the road and had supper at Rose and Grace. These were the only two places where I had the famous bulalo – and enjoyed it to the max! My husband also can’t get over the crispy dilis at R & G. I also read here about the Blue Kitchen in Rockwell, so I went and bought a few bottles of crispy dilis, tawilis sardines and garlic tuyo. I also had halo halo everyday and enjoyed it most at Razon’s, Milky Way and Max’s. We also went once to the Salcedo Village Saturday Market, where we bought some food to keep in the fridge, just in case. We also bought many of our pasalubongs from there.

grabe, i thought i wouldn’t reach the end of the line anymore so i could share my own fave food list as well.such recommendations is a good time and money saver. sometimes even non-balikbayans who find themselves in other places just settle for the good old jollibee or mc donald’s because of ignorance (or due to lack of advertisement)on what the place has to offer. thank you to all! i hope i get to try them all before i die…he,he.
