MM, I’d like to know about your gelateria experience in Rome. We go “gelateria” hopping there ala Spain’s tapas bars and skip a meal. Just too much to absorb!

Katrina, The Kid is nearly 4’10” and just barely 65 pounds and no matter what she eats she is skinny as a reed… She is good though, she knows at the top shops/patisseries and chocolate stores she can pick one or two goodies, enough to savor and test, not an outrageous amount. After all, she will probably not get the chance to return for many many years… Oh, but I must post our visit to the top gelateria in Rome where we went the day before we returned to Manila and we tried 10, yes 10 flavors of gelato in one go…heehee.

I’ve actually seen chocolate-scented candles here in Manila, but none were strongly scented enough for me to be sure I’d actually smell them while they were burning.

I am extremely envious of your daughter, MM! All that fine chocolate in abundance, and a dad to pay for them to boot!

They have several branches of Xocoa all over Barcelona. Barcelonais truly into food and chocolate is one of their passions as they have this with their national wine: cava. They have several cava bars too and chocolate varieties as tapas are served. Catalans drink cava (or champagne) even with their meals at lunchtime.
