I shuttle back and forth Manila-Cebu on a regular basis as part of my work and Zubuchon Flakes is always part of my Manila bound lugguge. I'm very happy to know that you are spending a lot of time and energy on helping out the Yolanda victims.

God bless you and your family.

Thank you MM, Mrs. MM and Teen for all the help extended to the people of Northern Cebu.

For everyone's information, most main roads are passable now as the LGUs and the local residents themselves have cleared the roads, ferries are now operating since yesterday.
It will take months before power is fully restored in Northern Cebu and Bantayan Island and its neighboring islands.

Damage is great, many are homeless and any aid given is very much needed and welcome - food, water, clothes, slippers, milk, sugar, medicines, nails, hammers, construction materials, flashlights with batteries, etc.

The profuse thanks coupled with tears as they receive relief goods, no matter how measly are heartbreaking to watch. Senior citizens, some even carried by relatives, line up under the scorching sun just so they could get whatever they can. I am thankful I was able to join the GMA Kapuso Foundation Cebu group who moved heaven and earth just so we can get to Northern Cebu and Bantayan Island.

Whatever you give would be highly, highly appreciated.

Daghang Salamat for all your help!

Hi MM, it's so heartwarming to see how your blog is serving as a channel to help our disaster hit brethren in the Visayas. In my heart, it evokes such positive and reassuring feelings especially with Christmas fast approaching. And in my mind, it conjures images of Christmas islands where love is in the air.

The reason I revisited your blog is because I was craving for some 'suman" which name I cannot recall but I remember having read about it in a post here several years back. I had little faith I will still find it but I did search. Lo and behold there it was together with a host of related articles. It was dated 22 Apr, 2005 titled "Saturday Salcedo Market" and the name of the "suman" is bud-bud kabog!

MM, this blog and the work you put into it is your legacy to the world. Superb!

Thank you for doing this MM. I'm based in New York, also concerned about the smaller / harder to reach islands that won't get as much attention.

Please do post or email me with any hyperlocal aid links that I can share with my circle here in the next few days. I want to help however I can.

GMA7 has started a database on the missing. There is also one on Leyte survivors made by the local government. I wish something could be done to make such a list current, comprehensive and referable and maybe online. I hope this isn't asking too much. It seems there are several people working on it but not on a unified effort. Thanks and cheers !
