Halloween Treats… :)

MM’s treat today is a seat at the first showing of James Bond’s Skyfall. We JUST got back from the movie and it was TERRIFIC! :) But for all the kids and kids at heart, the other sweeter treats are at the ready. We take Halloween seriously around here, and with a family member recently returned from the U.S., the land of all sorts of wonderfully packaged holiday treats, this is shaping up to be a particularly good year for Halloween themed loot.

Special edition Hershey’s kisses flavored with pumpkin and spice. Folks who tasted them (I haven’t) seemed to grimace at the flavors. :)

Caramel apple milky way seems like a nice concept, just tasted one before breakfast and thought it was tasty but gimmicky, probably won’t be a permanent flavor…

Festively wrapped Fall appropriate kitkats in teeny tiny portions are a classic, albeit mini bite of an old-time favorite.

The halloween specific orange colored kit kats are really fun, but the orange chocolate tastes abnormal. :)

I would never ever turn down a kiss. A personal favorite since childhood, I like these any way they are wrapped. And these days, the outer packages of these chocolates are particularly vibrant and the colors alive…

Candy corn in little trick or treat sized packets, our Zubuchon give away today at Escario Central, for each table that dines in, while limited supplies last. Other branches are handing out some treats as well, our GM informs me…

Individually wrapped chocolate pumpkins.

Special edition fall colored M&M’s, addictive when laid out in a bowl (finished a whole package like this at a brief office meeting the other day…

Even found some Peeps at Metro Grocery stores for the loot bags we make each year for the crew and their kids, as well as smaller loot bags for office staff.

Spotted these cool vintage feel tootsie roll containers, also at Metro, and had to get a couple, probably one for Mrs. MM, who, believe it or not, has NEVER EVER tasted a tootsie roll. She says because she was afraid it might pull out a filling… but more because it looks like a little poop. Hahaha. I kid you not.

This year’s loot bags. They are chock full of goodies. And I will probably give them out before the Skyfall movie, so they have stuff to munch on.

And for the kids trick or treating in our neck of the woods, the candy is at the ready. And since I just arrived in Manila, and have been incredibly busy, I promise I won’t pull any evil tricks this year to scare the wits out of all of you… :) Happy Halloween Everyone!

  5. Yeay for Peeps and Candy Corn!
I love the look of the special edition fall colored M&M’s. Are these available in Manila?

  6. Talagang nag-westernized na talaga tayo, dati rati wala namang celebration of Halloween. Pero ngayon, napanood ko yung mga parada, sus tatalunin nila ang mga Haunted House dito.

    Ako rin, pahingi ng candies.

    thanks.

  7. Happy Halloween! Out of topic but I just saw a glimpse of you in the Extreme Hidden Cities Cebu episode! Sadly, they took out your speaking part.

  8. Daya naman!! You and the rest of the Philippines have already seen the movie. It won’t be shown in the US till Nov. 8th. UK already had their premiere last week, I believe.. :(

  9. Smiling through every photo posted today, MM — from one child to another, “look it!” … :)

  10. Out of all these Halloween treats, I like the Russel Stover chocolate pumpkins and I also like their sugar free version but the winner for me is the Chocolate covered Marshmallow Pumpkin Peeps. If only they’re not 120 calories a peep. Not a fan of the Hershey’s pumpkin spice Kisses, but come Christmas time, I can’t have enough of their candy cane Kisses.

  11. sayang naman! kala ko at the last minute gagawa ng surprise uli si MM para sa mga curious sa neighborhood nya! though I didn’t see it I had a good laugh looking at the pictures of MM hiding inside that “free ice cream stand” and of the ones who tried to have a free ice cream from the styro box!
