Asia’s Best Female Chef and good friend/neighbor Margarita Fores and Filipino food is the focus of the first episode of Season 2 of CNN’s Culinary Journeys. If you head to Rappler’s article on the episode, you get lots more detail… Suffice it to say, Mrs. MM and I thought we were just table fillers for a dinner featured at the closing part of the episode, but it turned out to be a gathering of lots of old friends and acquaintances, many of them farmers, purveyors, foodies that at some time or another have come through this website as well. I won’t pre-empt the program, just encourage you to watch it (first airing this Thursday at 430pm I think, with several replays over the next few days). And to CNN, I sure hope you deleted 80% of the conversation with Margarita beside me as we completely forgot she had a microphone on and that was a few days before the election! I had no idea there was a remote camera just above our table hidden in the trellis!! Hahaha. To Margarita, BRAVA! my dear…
P.S. I will post the full menu and some photos of the dinner AFTER the episodes air.

MM, would you know if it’s CNN Philippines or CNN International?

ami, I think it is CNN International, as the program times stated at the end of the Rappler article specify HK time (which is the same as here…)…

Makes my mood vault to read inspiring coverage such as this, specially when it’s about individuals I have come to know through this virtual neighbourhood. Encouraging exception to the usual dreadful/embarrassing news from over there brought by a network that limits its broadcasts to human and natural disasters.

Hahaha…the mic & camera were the proverbial “fly on the wall”. I bet the conversation was just as juicy as some of the dish!

Fortunately, it’s available on-line for those of us in the US where the show isn’t shown. Caught a short glimpse of you MM just because you were seated beside Margarita Fores during the dinner.
