And in case you were wondering how marketman would have filled in those blanks, here are my answers:
Assume Mr. & Mrs. Marketman got invited to lunch with Martha Stewart at her estate in Bedford, New York. It is late August, and the weather is a very pleasant 78F under the shade of a huge maple tree. Nearby is the fantastic barn/stable that houses Martha’s six horses. Other guests at lunch include Ina Garten, Mario Batali, Thomas Keller, Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver and their respective partners/spouses/etc. Marketman burned the black t-shirt he wore when he roasted pigs with Anthony Bourdain, so that was one less choice to consider, but he still had to dress appropriately for the meal. First, he chucked his shorts and put on a pair of off-white or light-sand colored pants made of 100% irish or italian linen. His shirt was a shade of light green like that worn at the lechon eyeball and had real mother-of-pearl buttons. Political correctness be damned, he put on his favorite caramel colored crocodile skin belt. And on his feet were similar hued driving shoes or loafers but in suede or calfskin. He considered wearing a vintage Cartier Santos but opted for a less flashy IWC Pilot timepiece instead. He chose one of his finest Panama hats, but still needed his Tom Ford (James Bond Aviator from Quantum of Solace but in brown) sunglasses to complete the outfit. Of course he brought Martha bottles of kalamansi marmalade and mangosteen jam as a hostess gift.
Here is how to claim your prize. Please email me and tell me which prize you won (say W-2) and send me a Philippine postal address. Please use the email address you used in your comment, so I can identify you as the right winner. Winners of the sili seeds can give me their addresses anywhere in the world, and hopefully the seeds will make it through in an envelope mailed to you. For all other prizes, I will arrange to have the prizes mailed or sent to your philippine postal address. If the package is to be addressed to a friend or family member, kindly inidcate that in your email. You may have to wait a couple of weeks, as I am away from my desk next week and will be back in early December. And if you didn’t win anything, don’t lose hope, I have one last contest next week where you could win either a bottle of guava jelly or another bottle of kalamansi marmalade! To all of you who participated so far, many thanks and better luck next time!
