Favorite Marketman Dishes Mini-Contest… :)

Up for grabs for this “mini-contest” are two marketmanila shirts, size Men’s MEDIUM to be given to two winners randomly selected by the Teen from all “correct” answers provided. Please only enter once per reader, use an email address that I can actually contact you at (not a dormant old address), and you must have an address in the Philippines to which LBC or similar courier company can deliver a package to. If you live abroad, you are most welcome to join, but must have a relative or friend’s address in the Philippines to use if you win. The prize is absolutely free, you won’t have to sing, dance or do anything to get it other than answer the question(s) in the contest. Marketman will even shoulder all postage expenses. So yes, Juan or Purificacion, there is such a thing as a completely free lunch, at least on marketmanila.com there is. :)

There are hundreds of Filipino recipes on marketmanila.com… and here are some of my favorites. Please follow the clue below and search the archives to find 10 clues total. After the 10th clue you will know what to do and leave a comment below with your answer. Many thanks for playing along, and good luck!!!

  3. I enjoyed finding the clues, even got sidetracked by the fishpan story. I could ‘t resist reading it again hehehe.

  4. Inasal na manok, 2006. If i won’t win (and i know the chance of that happening is very high) it would still be okay coz i had fun tracking all those clues. And like Elit (and probably most readers here) i got sidetracked too by the fishpan story. It’s amazing how many posts I’ve missed or maybe just forgotten.

  5. sirloin beef tapa/casajos, 2007

Tried this recipe and it was wonderful! I finally found the intense beef flavor that I was looking for in tapa. Absolutely yummy.

  6. Daing na Bangus / Marinated Milkfish a la Marketman, 2008

had fun looking for clues!! Thanks, MM!

  7. Inasal na Manok, 2010

I let my coffee go cold and ignored the hunger pangs as I read thru/revisited the posts. :)

  8. Best pork adobo, 2009.

I came for Bourdain but stayed for the adobo. :-)

The search function can easily be exploited to get to the last clue. Dapat siguro hindi “clue” yung umpisa ng bawat clue.

  9. Daing na bangus anytime of the day. Of course with dried tapa/casajos on the side. A very newbie, 2012.

  10. daing na bangus, 2006(?) i forgot already…

had fun searching and going back to other posts…

  11. Chicken Inasal, 2005

2005 ~ Remember ko tlaga around this time frame kasi I’ve tried your Tapa recipe and I mistakenly used normal table salt instead of kosher/rock salt, halos tumirik ang mga mata nang Mister ko….LOL!

  12. Five Roasted Pork Bellies, 2008 ….I think.

I was a long time lurker before I started leaving comments.

  13. five roasted pork bellies, 2009

(this makes my stomach rumbles – reminding me to cook dinner)… thanks for all the post MM, i enjoy browsing all the posts…a good reminder to look back ^_^

  14. Budbud Kabog, 2006

I would have chosen any of the other meaty posts but this article was a memorable victory. I remember all of the hardships and “hiccups” that went before the discovery of this dish. Plus I love “Kakanin”! :)

  15. Inasal na Manok, 2008. My favorite dish is actually your version of humba, but inasal is a close second.

  16. kinilaw na tanguigue, 2005 (very rare commenter)

while i was searching for the clues, i’d have thought the “answer” would be “top 50(ish) pinoy dishes”, then i hit the budbud kabog clue… :) the 9 other dishes are in that top 55 list.

thanks for last almost-7 (for me) years… i’ve been well-entertained and educated by your blog and the community of readers you have.

  17. inasal na manok, 2005

  18. Kinilaw na tanguigue,2006

That’s the only time that I can verify with my sister, though I think i’ve been reading your site long before. Lamayo is what got me hooked! Yours is the first site I check when I turn the computer on. I enjoy reading your posts and continue to do so.Thanks. Hope you’ll never tire of doing this.
