Marketman’s Schizophrenia…

Some of you may be a bit confused in the weeks ahead, or at least think Marketman is confused himself. I normally post adventures, food, finds, trips, etc. in actual chronological order. I rarely post something I did way back when and for which I had photos lying around. That just isn’t my thing. You usually read a post that is most engaging if it has just in fact occurred to me and/or the family. This is particularly true when I rant about something as the immediacy of typing out my views when the issue is still boiling usually results in a “hot and thus interesting” post. However, more than at any point in this blog’s history, I am now sitting on nearly 100 posts in my pipeline. Trips to New York/New England, Boracay, Pagudpud and other food items/finds mean that I have what I like to call “post constipation.” So I have decided to mix things up a little… you may get a New York post in the morning, a Bora post later in the afternoon and maybe two Pagudpud posts in rapid succession. In a way, this may be more interesting for some of you, but it allows me to write as I get the urge on a particular topic. There will hopefully be many more posts than usual in the month ahead. Please continue to leave your comments where appropriate. I find that speeding up my posts actually REDUCES the amount of comments, which is frankly a bit of a bummer for me. But I like to be relatively current, writing about things that have recently occurred, so I am going to be rather anal about reducing my backlog… Just so you know…

  1. Cool! This is going to be like CNN for your readers(hehehe)…just hope I don’t get in trouble at work by continuously checking your blog. :)

  2. i don’t think of it as schizo, just a lot of interesting things to post about and yet so little time.. hehehe!! still eagerly waiting for all the nice stuff and interesting thoughts that you usually share to us that makes us more addicted to come back for more.. hehehe!!

  3. I check your blog first thing in the morning and last thing at night(and leave all the “to read books” lying by night stand table.. which I NEVER get to read). I actually print out your recipes if they’re a bit “doable” for me, otherwise your non-food posts are by far entertaining. As a whole I love your blog, it’s kinda addicting!!!

  4. Ah but I understand you want to share all of them with your readers, well you probably have heard of that expression…so many taboos, so little time. That’s why mavens hem themselves within certain narrow confines and start jettisoning items to make space for more suitable ones. “Living well does not mean having it all. It means being able to pick your own pleasures.” Judith Christ in Indulge! issue of Gourmet magazine February 1998

  5. Do write at whatever pace you’re most comfortable with. We readers are content with whatever you write, schizophrenia or no. You’re really fortunate to have gone to so many places within such a short timespan and thanks for sharing them. I understand that it seems best to write stuff while they’re still fresh, but you may find at some point that being too anal makes the literary sphincter even more.. err.. constricted. Take a deep breath and immerse yourself in nice journey memories. Soon enough you’ll find yourself typing in… err… post diarrhea? Oh boy. =P Ok, let’s just put it as typing up a storm, and happily at that. =)

  6. I am looking forward to your global/local articles – I can’t ask for more!

  7. Hi MM! This new posting format sounds exciting. More flavors to digest for us readers. It’s always enjoyable to read your posts on travel, food, decorations, and even your rants. :-) I visit every time I go online so write away if you must. I hope I can keep up with your typing speed. I can’t wait!

  8. Anything you post is always good reading, enjoyable and fun no matter what – it’s almost addicting or I must admit – I’m addicted!

  9. Guilty! I find that when there are several posts I’ve missed, for some reason, I don’t feel as compelled to comment on the older ones.

This may seem weird but I view your posts as ongoing discussions (I also love your commenters, by the way). So when you’ve posted something new, I feel that it’s your way of saying, “Hi guys, let’s move on to other topics.”

But please keep to at least once a day lest we suffer from MM withdrawal. Thanks for all this!
