Zubuchon in Yummy and Mabuhay Magazines…

Zubuchon now delivers whole lechons by airfreight to Manila for pick-up from the airport, so it was a thrill to see one of our lechons featured in the December 2010 Yummy Magazine Holiday Issue! In the magazine’s feature entitled “The Holiday Table”, a Zubuchon snores gently at the back of the heaping buffet and cornucopia of comfort food and other holiday goodies. It’s a nice, thick holiday issue, with lots of advertising, so I am glad to see this magazine doing well… after all, Marketman and Yummy go back to the early days of the magazine, with a feature on Marketman with recipes in their second issue in April 2007, here. :)

A regular reader has also alerted me that the in-flight Mabuhay Magazine of Philippine Airlines also listed Zubuchon as one of the 10 things to “do” when in Cebu… I haven’t seen the article myself, but Mrs. MM has, and she will be bringing me a copy of the magazine in a couple of days so I can add a photo of the cover to this post. Unfortunately, the telephone number given in the blurb for Zubuchon is incorrect (should be +63.32.236.5264 or +63.917.627.4761), but we do greatly appreciate the mention, written by Jude Bacalso (an avid consumer of Zubuchon) and Michelle Varron.

Next up, a post on how to order Zubuchon for holiday delivery to Manila… Thanks.

  3. Got to taste Zumbuchon last weekend and it was really as good as promised. Considering it had no MSG it really beat all the previous lechon’s I have tasted before. Wish it was available everywhere..

  4. PAL flight full during the holiday as Zubuchon occupy the economy and business sit …. can it take a connecting flight to Singapore :)

  5. As usual, great job, MM! Mas maraming blessings pa ang darating sayo lalo na your heart is open to help others, so laging may lalagyan ng biyaya. :)

  6. i have a copy of that issue…i brought Zubuchon in manila when we had our annual get together(sort of christmaas party). everybody likes the lechon and we bragged about that Zubuchon is msg free(coz we are all cancer survivors). oh boy, the lechon was still crispy even if it was cooked around 3am.

by the way, thank you for your hearty mami soup.

  7. kudos to you MM and to your team! i love the photo of Zubuchon in the magazine (i got hold a copy for myself and for my mom).

  8. I’m so proud and happy for you MM for the success of Zubuchon and all the great publicity you’re getting. May you and your family and crew have more blessings in 2011.

  9. At NAIA flying back home summer last year, I bought Yummy magz to read in the plane; I was so amazed at the artilces, and felt bad at the same time. There was so much Cavite in their features and I had stayed there in one my of my mission trips. Although my group and I did not eat out so much, I could not believe the places to eat mentioned in the magz are so close by where I was; I told myself then that I would buy this magazine everytime I go Pinas. I’ll try to get a subscription in the internet.. for I dn’t want to miss another issue.

  10. Congratulations, MM! :)

An early Christmas gift to the MM household, I suppose – Merry Christmas! :)

  11. It was only a matter of time, MM…Zubuchon is now a jet-setter!!! WOW!! and crispy even after hours and hours of travel! I know I wilt a bit, and lose my crispy edge after a long flight…

  12. Advance Merry Christmas MM!

Looking forward to your next post.

I just ordered zubuchon for Dec 26 delivery to Manila. I hope everything is in order as my siblings and myself who are all based overseas look forward to tasting the best lechon in the world.

  13. Hi!
I came from Cebu last week and brought your lechon to Manila. Anthony Bourdain was right! It’s the best pig in the world. Congrats! Looking forward to ordering again.

  14. Just thot I’d let you know Balamban Liempo is trying to associate Bourdains “best pork ever” declaration with their product. From one of their Facebook pages:

“We walked to Larsian Fuente where our research told us we would find the latest food craze, balamban liempo, “better than lechon.” If no less than international chef Anthony Bourdain says that the best pork in the world can be found in the Philippines, who are we to argue? No one would tell us what secret spices went into the pork belly but it’s so memorable, I am still craving it days after. You can have puso or hanging rice to complement your pork. Never mind the cholesterol overload. That’s living dangerously.”

  15. hoz, thanks for that. I can’t even get riled about it. Had several posts on Balamban Liempo and frankly, the product will speak for itself… :)
